If you were around, or at least active on social media during the early wake of Instagram then I can only assume that the name Lulama Wolf rings a bell or two, otherwise which Instagram were you on? Before the rise of influencers, "Insta stories" and Pinterest boards , artists such as Lulama Wolf, were the bridge that took the seemingly exclusive world of fashion, art and creativity and showed us how it belonged to us all. How art and fashion alike were not things to be observed from a distance but something that we too could not only be a part of but create as well.

From her days of blogging on Tumblr, to the white framed pictures on Instagram (you just had to be there) many of us have watched from the sidelines as Wolf's creative expressions have varied and grown. And now, we are honored once more to see her take on even more avenues to express her art through and that is seen in her most recent project. Her collaboration with H&M Home.

"I have always said that I want my work and art to reach and impact more people in a way that honors where I come from; and H&M Home has made that possible with this collaboration".

With an infusion of smearing, scraping and deep pigmenting Lulama's art reflects the architecture of her home and country. Inspired by vernacular architecture and rock art , Lulama explained her artistic approach and origins in saying, "My art stems from unanswered questions I've had in my life..."

With her collection ranging from handprinted stoneware dishes, to a beautifully tufted rug, Pillow cases and more, it is easy to imagine Lulama's pieces warming up your home. It is truly exciting and even more inspiring to see black woman inhabit spaces that allow their work to be seen along side world renowned household brands.
